Despite the kook park rangers saying there’s no snowboarding allowed in NYC parks it appears that Mountain Creek and a few others are going to set the record straight. If you are in the New York metro area this weekend – check out the winter jam. With all this real snow it should be a fun little epic evening in the best city in the world. No offense DC, Philly, Chicago or LA but NYC is where its at. Please prove me wrong if you can. In the meantime hustle your chilly willy to the winter Jam this weekend.
This Saturday, February 6, 2010, Mountain Creek will be spreading the stoke to those strolling through Central Park at Winter Jam NYC 2010. Winter Jam NYC is an annual winter sports festival that encourages New Yorkers (and those inhabiting the “6thborough”) to come out and enjoy the outdoors during the colder months.
The centerpiece of this year’s Winter Jam event will be the Switch Academy Rail JamPresented by: Mountain Creek. Come out and watch as New York and New Jersey’s best riders throw down to impress special guest judge, Pat Moore. Participants must register online and sign a waiver beforehand. The rail jam is first come; first serve… so if you’re interested in shredding Central Park, sign up early.
Throughout the day, the freestyle coaches from Switch Academy will also be giving pointers to those interested in improving their freestyle skills or sliding their first feature.
Winter Jam NYC starts at 11am and lasts through 4pm. Grab your board and experience shredding to the melodic sounds of taxi cabs and street vendors.
